On this warm July day, The CoverUps were invited to play live music for Holly and Paul’s summer wedding at the renowned, Hampton Manor in Solihull. The band love playing at this fantastic wedding venue located just down the road from Coventry where the band are based. The staff of Hampton Manor are welcoming and accommodating plus, on a practical note, it is an easy load in for the band and the venue itself is stunning with historical architecture and beautiful gardens to set the scene. No wonder it is such a popular wedding venue in the Birmingham and Warwickshire area.
The CoverUps were booked to play for 2 and a half hours which is 30 minutes over the usual time, but we didn’t mind one bit! The bride and groom requested a few of their favourite tracks to be played including Marry You by Bruno Mars and Faith by George Michael which immediately followed their first dance. The CoverUps prepared Dignity by Deacon Blue as the couple’s first dance and the preparation pulled off. The newlyweds and their wedding guests loved it and the band enjoyed having a bit of a fun grooving with the track.
The dance floor was filled with guests drinking, dancing and enjoying themselves late into the night. To top it all off, we played Power Of Love by Huey Lewis and as if on cue, guests jumped to the dance floor with plastic guitars and pulled out their best dance moves and air guitar skills. We couldn’t have ended the night on a higher note!
Congratulations to Holly and Paul on your marriage and thank you for booking The CoverUps as your live wedding band. We wish you all the best!

One of The CoverUps last weddings for September 2014 happened to be Caroline and Andy’s wedding at Hampton Manor!
On Friday, 19th we made our way down the road (literally!) to Hampton in Arden, Solihull for Caroline and Andy’s wedding. The Manor itself is a beautiful wedding venue very close to our HQ, in Coventry, with only a 12 mile journey to go! Though nothing makes us happier than a satisfied bride and groom… when the drive is easy, the load in is simple and the food is filling, our night is just that much better!
Hampton Manor is a restored estate hired out for weddings, parties, meetings, weekends away- practically everything! The estate has stunning gardens, stylish contemporary rooms and offers great wedding packages for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. We love that it is a beautiful venue nearby and we hope to be returning here for many more weddings in the future!
Introducing… Adam Kibble!
Tonight, The CoverUps introduced a new member of the crew, Adam, on lead vocals. It was Adam’s first gig with The CoverUps and we threw him into the deep end… of course trusting fully in his ability to swim. 😉 The feedback was excellent and Adam was all smiles at the end of the night while raving about how great it went! After the couple’s first dance to their chosen recorded track, “How Long Will I Love You” covered by Ellie Goulding, we started the night with a classic hit, “Moondance”, and followed it by “Stuck In The Middle”, another favorite. As always, we are more than happy to take requests from the Bride and Groom and in this case the requests fit perfectly with the night! The dance floor stayed full all the way through to the end with high energy and encores!
Something we just have to mention was the mid-evening entertainment – fireworks!! After our second set, the guests were welcomed outside to enjoy a firework display organized by the bride and groom. What a fantastic way to keep your guests dazzled during the usually “quieter” segments of the evening!
All In For A Spontaneous Conga Exit!
“Take Me Out”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Livin’ On A Prayer” and “500 Miles” were just some of the favored requests and they went down an absolute treat. You can’t go wrong with a bit of Stevie Wonder and Bon Jovi!
We finished the night with The Killers’, “Mr Brightside” and it turned out to be the perfect ending tune for the night. To make it even better, towards the end of the track, as the Bride and Groom were getting ready to leave, all of the guests suddenly ran into formation from all corners of the room and started a conga line! When timings are tight and you want to get everyone outdoors in an efficient fashion, a conga line is probably the best way we’ve ever seen this done!
Thank you to Caroline and Andy for being wonderful clients and for allowing us to host your evening wedding celebration! We had a wonderful time and wish you the best on your new adventure together as husband and wife.
