Summer, Country House Wedding in Surrey

To kick off the month of August we skirted round London to the Great Fosters Hotel in Surrey for AJ and Harriet’s wedding. Great Fosters was originally built as a royal hunting lodge in 1550, though today stands as a luxurious country house perfect for hosting weddings like this one!

The road to Surrey was a straight forward 2-hour journey for the band. We loaded our gear into our vehicles and left plenty of time to get to the hotel to set up. It was the band’s first visit to Great Fosters Hotel and from what we were told about the venue, it certainly was all we expected and more. The grounds were gorgeous, no doubt about that! We couldn’t find any reason not to label the hotel as a fantastic wedding venue. We would recommend Great Fosters to any bride and groom looking for an all-in-one wedding package and a location close to London yet in the countryside seemingly miles away from the big city.

A Marvellous Night For A Moondance

The evening reception began with the bride and groom’s first dance which the band performed live- Moondance by Van Morrison. Following the happy couple’s first dance, the bride had an intimate dance with her father and the groom had a special dance with his mother. This is an American tradition come to find out that was a lovely touch to the evening!

After the first dances we carried on straight through our first set list full of 60s-70s classics. We changed things up a bit in our second set with some modern hits that kept the dance floor full. Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars and and Maroon 5 being some of the guests favourite artists, of course!

Wrapping It Up With A Favourite Finale

The night went by like a flash. It’s true that time flies when you’re having fun! To wrap up the night we rocked out to Summer of ’69 by Bryan Adams. It’s a classic favourite often requested and it never disappoints. The dance floor was packed, everyone was having a blast and the bride and groom couldn’t have been more pleased. What more could we ask for?

A big congratulations goes out to the bride and groom, Harriet and AJ! The CoverUps wish you the absolute best in your married life together and we hope that one day our paths might cross again.
