Tewin Bury Farm is something of a regular haunt for The CoverUps; not a season of weddings goes by without the band playing a live show or two down in Welwyn Garden City. And with the reception at tonight’s wedding, long may it continue!
As is often the case with relatively early first sets, and 3 set evenings, the first set was a fairly gentle affair. Quiet appreciation of the music from the audience is often as much as a wedding party are capable of shortly after a hearty wedding breakfast. And rightly so, especially when there’s 3 x 40 minute sets, there’s plenty of time to get up later…
… And get up they did! The second and third sets were lively, with high points of Sweet Child o’ Mine (monster guitarist, Hywel Bennett’s favourite track of the repertoire!) I Predict a Riot, and Teenage Dirtbag all seeing the party really kick off! John Wright, tonight’s lead vocalist was joined by a couple of the most enthusiastic revellers during the encore (Hey Jude), lending their own vocal stylings to the show!
All in all, another great night at Tewin Bury Farm; certainly one of the top venues for weddings, and a great place for live music!
