Ettington Park Spring Wedding

Our last event of April saw the band returning to Ettington Park, one of Warwickshire’s most favourited wedding venues. Only a short 40-minute drive for The CoverUps to Stratford-Upon-Avon, we always find it a pleasure to play so close to home.

On this momentous day, Rachel and Alex declared their love for each other in front of their closest family and friends. The band arrived at 6:00pm prompt to set up and perform a live cover of Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran for the newlyweds first dance. Immediately after, the bride and groom celebrated in only the best way- inviting their guests to join them on the dance floor to bust out their best dance moves!

A Set List That Ensures Success

Rachel and Alex contacted the band before their wedding with a list of song requests. The CoverUps very much appreciate when couples do this as it helps the band craft a set list we are certain the bride and groom will love. Happy by Pharrell Williams and Mr Brightside by the Killers were listed as particular favourites along with other iconic tracks and we didn’t hesitate to add them to the set list!

A classic finishing track, Hey Jude by the Beatles – with a note to Elbow’s One Day Like This – wrapped the evening to a close. As the guests continued to enjoy themselves in the bride and groom’s company, the band packed up their gear, said goodbye and called it a very successful night!

Congratulations Rachel and Alex! Thank you for inviting the CoverUps to play a part in your special day!

Garden Marquee Wedding in Gloucester

Just over an hours drive from the band’s base in Coventry, West Midlands was a marquee in Deerhurst, Gloucester where Tansy and Andrew were enjoying their wedding breakfast along with their closest friends and family. The CoverUps were thankful for a dry night as we loaded our gear into the marquee once speeches were brought to a close and the wedding cake was cut. As the band set the stage, the bride and groom enjoyed drinking and mingling with their wedding guests.

After an efficient sound check, the band invited the bride and groom onto the dance floor to start the night with their chosen first dance song, Instant Reply by Dan Hartman. Guests were soon encouraged to join the happy couple and the night kicked off with Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen! A few requested tracks by the bride and groom included Come On Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners and A Little Respect by Erasure and kept high energy in the room until the very end!

Congratulations Tansy and Andrew! The CoverUps wish you the very best; it was an absolute pleasure to play for your wedding! Enjoy a short highlight video from the night below!

Manchester Wedding At Worsley Park Marriott Hotel

It may have been April Fools’ Day, a holiday meant for fun and games, but it was no joke that Jacqui and Ian were officially tying the knot! The band arrived at Worsley Park Marriott HotelManchester at 6:00pm prompt to meet the happy bride and groom and prepare to play live music for their wedding reception.

The band kicked off the night with Marry You by Bruno Mars- a requested favourite by the bride and groom for their first dance. As we jumped straight into the next track on our set list, Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealers Wheel, all wedding guests were invited onto the dance floor and it was plain to see we were in for a memorable night!

Jacqui and Ian put careful thought into the live music for their wedding which the band always appreciates. Therefore, it wasn’t a surprise to receive a list of requested tracks the couple picked from our repertoire. We couldn’t say no to adding these epic tunes into the night’s set list- Mr. Brightside by The Killers, I Saw Her Standing There by The Beatles and Shut Up And Dance by Walk The Moon just to name a few!

The night went down a storm and the dance floor was packed until we finished our last set with Don’t Look Back In Anger by Oasis. The CoverUps are so pleased to have been a part of such a special occasion. Huge congratulations to the newlyweds, Jacqui and Ian! Enjoy and short highlight video from the night below!
